Elgie Bus Lines Limited History |
 |
 |
Elgie Bus Lines Limited has provided safe and reliable transportation for school children for over fifty years.
Stuart Elgie founded the company in 1951 in West Nissouri Township, east of London, when he converted an $1,800 parcel delivery van into Elgie’s first bus.
Stuart continued farming while his wife Marguerite transported nine children from one area school to another.
Eight years later, the business expanded with the addition of four buses to service local routes.

Today, Elgie Bus Lines Limited has come a long way, with a large fleet of vehicles and contracts with local school boards to transport over 10,000 pupils daily.
Our facilities include a three-bay bus garage and 100-vehicle yard in London, along with bus yards in Thamesford, Embro, and Woodstock.
Elgie Bus Lines Limited continues to serve the community as a family business, with Stuart's son, John, and grandson, Bradley, as part owners.
Since we are transporting young lives, Elgie Bus Lines is dedicated to transporting your children safely.
We ensure that buses are kept in excellent mechanical condition and that bus drivers are mature, safety conscious, and have outstanding character.
Elgie Bus Lines Limited is a dependable and respected supplier of school bus transportation.
However, we have not concentrated solely on school buses.
We are making the transport of special needs adults and students an important part of our business.
There are presently eighteen wheelchair-equipped vans in our fleet.
We have activity buses for longer trips, as well as vans for smaller groups in our fleet.
